We're building huge privacy fence in our garden so nosey neighbours can't peer in... but everyone's saying same thing

A COUPLE are building a privacy fence in their back garden to keep nosey neighbours at bay.

Instead of forking out thousands of pounds for the trouble, the duo opted to take matters into their own hands.

Kelsea O'Brien (@alwaysa_kazyhome) - a self-styled 'budget friendly DIYer' - posted the building blocks of the process on TikTok.

She asks: "Nosy neighbours? Let's build a privacy wall."

The influencer goes on to offer step-by-step instructions.

She continues: "Dig the hole 1/3 of the height of the post.

"Add a few rocks to the bottom to prevent water damage to the wood.

"Add water then some cement then water then cement [again]. Make sure it's level all around," she said as the video shows her and her husband in the building process.

"Moving onto the second post... make sure it's level to the first.

"Then repeat the cement and water concoction."

While the couple's horizontal slat isn't yet in place, the two assured viewers: "Tomorrow we tackle the panels!"

But viewers were quick to criticise the homeowner for their decision.

"You can see into their yard, how are they the nosey ones?", one said.

Another doubled down: "Or just move to a house that isn't in a neighbourhood with houses on top of each other?

"Just a thought."

The homeowner later stressed the video was a joke, adding: "We actually like our neighbours. Just some privacy for both of us."

It comes after one woman showed off her impressive privacy fence, but it's not her DIY skills that have got people talking.

Meanwhile, a home expert has shared how he created a DIY privacy fence for his backyard - using fake ivy.
